FASHFIED EVENTS: Proudly Naija Souk

As the vibrant city of Paris prepared to welcome the +15 million people who will pack their bags to fly in for the Olympics 2024, the Proudly Naija Souk team flew some elegant Nigerian fashion creativity. Proudly Naija Souk (PNS) was birthed 3 years ago by Omobola Dada, a Nigerian living in the United Kingdom with a goal to promote the brand "Nigeria" in the diaspora.

It is no news that Nigeria has one of the leading fashion industries in the continent. There is a lot of creativity and innovation going on. This is surely a moment in history when other continents are looking to Africa to draw inspiration from its creativity. As a result, Nigeria has not seized to supply the world with innovative and highly creative options.

Omobola, through the vehicle of Proudly Naija Souk is facilitating this and building bridges between the innovative designers and the international body of consumers who are searching. 


Furthermore, the team is driving narratives to show Nigeria in a positive light.

Over the couple of years, the Nigerian entertainment industry (Movies and Music) has placed Nigeria on a global stage with our top artists, actors, and movies getting internationally recognised and appreciated.


The Proudly Naija Souk vision is to do the same to the Nigerian Fashion industry. This is the third year of organizing this pop up event and the platform brings various creatives together through this events. No doubt that some strong partnerships/collaborations have emerged from these events and more are still forming from the Paris edition of the PNS.

For the maiden edition of the Proudly Naija Souk, Paris, 9 interesting, highly creative, and impeccable Nigerian fashion brands. These brands surely told the story of the Nigerian Fashion and culture in their individual unique way.

ANDREW TABITHA
